The first phrase that came out my mouth when I entered Huncho House was "this is such a cute place!" Huncho House gives date night vibes. It is nicely decorated with limited spacing, naturally creating a very intimate setting. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess, who confirmed our reservation and then offered us their complimentary champagne. Upon seating us, we were welcomed and greeted by three waiters that were very attentive to our table. For our appetizer, we ordered the Wagyu cheesesteak eggrolls, which were flavorful, however, the eggrolls were lacking a crispiness and the additional gusto that we needed to be amazed by this dish. For our entree, we had the jerk short ribs with the crab Mac and cheese as a side, which were both sizable proportions. The short ribs didn't necessarily give jerk to me, however, it was still an enjoyable dish. The risotto rice that came with the short ribs was uniquely flavored that I feel required an acquired taste. The crab Mac and cheese was very palatable. My fork just kept gravating to that cheesy goodness. Overall, we appreciated the robust customer service and thoroughly appreciated the experience here. As it relates to parking, there was street parking available along with a parking garage.

I came to visit a couple of friends in the DMV area and found this place highly recommended on TikTok so we had to give it a try! We made reservations online a couple of days in advance and had to settle for a later time because it was almost booked up (so book in advance!). We found parking on the street but I believe there may have been a parking garage as well. When we came in, we were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne (which was tasty!) and taken to our seats. The establishment itself is a bit small so I'm not sure if it's ideal for large groups or more than about 6-8 people. We were also pretty close to the table next to us. We had a couple of waiters with our main one being Anaya and they were all great! Everyone was pretty knowledgeable, gave recommendations, checked on us frequently and had great customer service , which I greatly appreciate! For our meal, we started with the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. They were good, however I expected it to be more "solid" (not sure the right word to use). It was pretty saucy and kind of runny so it didn't quite give egg roll to me and it could've been a little more crispy but it was still good. For our entree we did the short ribs and a side of the seafood Mac. Both were excellent to me! The ribs were tender and fell off the bone and the risotto that it sat on top of was delicious! Very well seasoned! The Mac and cheese was just how I like it, creamy, cheesy, well baked and well seasoned. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu!

We finally made it- overall good experience! Service- Gigi was awesome, she is making them money because she makes everything sound amazing and knows how to up sell . You hear me! The ambiance gives grown and sexy! The space is small and intimate. Best suited for a date night, or small intimated celebration The food was delicious!! Due to Gigi making everything sound delicious, we had quite a few appetizers- the waygu eggrolls, deviled eggs, a sushi roll( can't remember the name) and oysters. My personal favorite were the eggrolls and deviled eggs. I had the on top of a bed of risotto, I found the risotto to be flavorless and a bit runny, rather than a thicker creamy consistency. The scallops were perfectly cooked though. Our drinks took near 30 minutes to come out, so seems like they need some support in that area. We love supporting black business-- be prepared to spend, especially since you'll need to try a few dishes to get the full Huncho experience!

Absolutely delightful experience. It's obvious that providing an exuberant dining experience is a high priority. Every last bit of the kind gestures, including the welcome glass of bubbly to laying your napkin across your lap, made me feel appreciated before I spent a dime. Ok..let's get into it. Gigi, served our table and was a pleasure. Bar was a bit slow but it was Friday night. For reference, we were a party of 2 & got last minute the night prior for reservations at 7pm. Doesn't seem they can accommodate many large parties. Quaint dining setup, would be excited to see them in a larger space. Food... oh boy! Something spectacular occurred creating the sauce that sits beneath the perfectly fried red snapper. Market rate was $75. Huge portion, worth every penny. The jerk short ribs were tender and flavorful and the risotto was creamy with a nice hint of curry. Mac and cheese was cheesing and the Brussels were top tier! We had the cheesesteak eggrolls too, just wow..cheesy and the creamy chili sauce had the perfect kick to it. Though the bar was slow, the huncho date night was soooo good! Thanks for the recommendation, GiGi. Can't wait to come back and try the lobster mashed potatoes, ribeye and bread pudding.

I've been to Huncho house 4 times since 2023. It never disappoints. Food is tasty and drinks are hitting. Everything is seasoned well and well worth every penny ! Visited DC and Huncho House was a must try! Reservations are required, we received complimentary champagne upon arrival. We were sat promptly and enjoyed our experience. We were seated pretty close to the kitchen area so we were able to see a lot of what the "chef's table" diners were able to see also. I absolutely LOVED the fact that I was receiving service from "my people" the entire staff was all minority and service/food was on point! Appetizer we ordered the wagyu cheesesteak egg rolls 10/10. Entree was the Jerk short ribs 10/10 Also ordered the crab Mac & cheese 12/10 If I return to the DMV I would definitely come back to try other items. 10/10 definitely recommend!!!

After months of trying we finally secured a reservation at the Huncho House for my birthday! This restaurant is perfect for special occasions. It is a smaller venue which adds to the intimate feeling. The staff are incredible from start to finish. We were greeted with warm smiles and offered a champagne tasting before being taken to our table. We wanted to order everything on the menu, but settled for a selection of a few items. We had the wagyu cheesesteak egg rolls, the jerk short rib, the cilantro lime lamb, the crab mac and cheese, and the mashed potatoes. I also ordered a cocktail (I believe the name of the drink was hear me clearly). Everything was 10/10! The lamb was a definite favorite. We also loved the egg rolls so much that we ordered some to go! The jerk short rib fell off the bone and the sides were delightful. I will say, the jerk short rib did not really taste like jerk seasoning, but nonetheless it was the best short rib I've ever had! We can't wait to come back and bring some friends with us! Give the Huncho House a try for your next date night or special occasion!

When visiting Huncho House I would recommend making a reservation and ensure that you are punctual as you only have 90 minutes for your experience. Parking can also be tricky as their are limited spots on the street. There is a public parking lot around the corner but to get to the entrance you need to circle the plaza. Upon arrival you are greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne and we were quickly escorted to our table. We enjoyed some cocktails and mocktails. All three were flavorful and well-balanced. To start we had the deviled eggs and charbroiled oysters which was the best part of the meal. Both were complex and the flavors all paired well together. I could eat those two for my entree alone. Next we split the scallops, lamb chops and braised short ribs. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. The short ribs were delicious but I didnt really taste the jerk flavor. The scallops were hearty and the risotto was well seasoned. Our waitress was amazing! She was extremely attentive and provided great recommendations. As far as pricing this was not an inexpensive experience. Expect to spend at least $100 per person. More if you plan to order multiple drinks and dessert. A few pieces of feedback our table was a little small. There was not enough room for our appetizers and it was hard to maneuver items around the table.
